Well, according to ESPN the Phils think that Gillies equals Taylor and the two Mariner pitching prospects give them value to offset Drabek's loss. I don't know anything about the prospects, but if they are as good as the guys they gave up, then its a wash. Of course the Phils always made it sound like Drabek was going to be the next "fill-in-your-favorite-phenom-here" and future ace of the staff. Maybe he lost something off of his fastball since Halloween.

I agree that there is way too much whining about the injuries in the WBC. A lot of the pro players from the Caribbean play year round. What's a few extra games in spring, especially for position players? I guess with pitchers it's a little more of a risk.

True enough, but I feel like he has a better shot than anyone is giving him. Gavin Floyd's first five games at AAA: 1-3, 4.92 ERA. Carlos Carrasco's first six games at AAA: 2-2, 1.72 ERA. I would say that Carrasco is a little bit more pro-ready than Floyd, haha.
