Well, coming off a series sweep at the hands of the Houston Astros, things still don’t look too bad. A series against the Nationals will cure most ailments, including slumping bats. The Phillies still enjoy a 6 game lead over The Marlins, and are 8 games over The Braves. Ryan Howard has apparently been enjoying a healthy diet at Subway, as he has been on a tear over the last few weeks. His average has climbed up to .277, and he is third in the National League in Homeruns. To help put that into perspective, the last time Howard's average was this high, it was May 12th. On the flip side, Shane Victorino is 2 for his last 21 at bats, and has an average which is under .300 for the first time since July 3rd. I don’t want to even look at Ibanez’s stats compared to what he was on pace for. All I want is a series sweep against a divisional opponent. Is that too much to ask for?
